IDEALS faculty Carlos Meriles along with Andrea Alu and Qiushi Guo of the ASRC Photonics Initiative have received a $3.2 million award from ARPA-H for Quantum Spatial Encoding for Non-Invasive Structural Examination (qSense).
The project aims to establish a quantum magnetic induction tomography (qMIT) platform for contactless bio-imaging, combining quantum sensing with advanced computational imaging for portable and non-ionizing tissue conductivity mapping.
From Prof. Meriles, “we are excited about the opportunity to develop a new quantum sensing platform for contactless radio-frequency imaging, bringing together advances in quantum metrology, photonics, and computational imaging. Beyond its potential applications, I’m particularly excited about the interdisciplinary collaboration and the new research directions this project will open.”
Congratulations to the team!
